2012 – 2012 PA/Legal Counsel, Antra Zavele Private Advocate Practice, Riga, Latvia.

Responsibilities: My role included general office management tasks plus different legal tasks. I was responsible for drafting and reviewing different legal contracts and commercial documents for local and international market, processing invoices and bills, updating databases and checking compliance.

2011 – 2011 Telemarketing Agent, EF Education First, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Responsibilities: My role was to provide outbound customer service. I gave pre and post sales advice to native Russian speakers (prospects) via telephone, email and fax for a range of educational products. All customer contacts and enquiries were handled in a professional manner, in line with the client brand values and principles. I was expected to promote the EF Language courses abroad and raise brand awareness. Customer data was input in the EF CRM system. I also had to work in close co-operation with the Russian sales and marketing office.

2010 – 2010 Project Team Member, NGO A.R.T. Fusion, Bucharest, Romania.

Responsibilities: I was based in Bucharest on a project to promote awareness of the UN Millennium Development Goals and sustainable development. We had to work with local government and businesses. Regular activities included presentations, running workshops, conferences and some field trips. In addition to my day to day work, I had a role of organiser/administrator, managing things such as team scheduling, contracts for IP and insurances and travel. I was mentored on personal development and I also passed a basic Romanian language course.

2005 – 2007 Department Assistant, Land Register of Riga District/Judicial Administration, Riga, Latvia.

Responsibilities: I checked the quality and compliance of notary requests, calculated payable taxes and fees and if needed, indicated what additional documents were required. I had to manage documents into and out of the main archive. I assisted land registrars in drafting and modifying official land registry document (agreements), I worked with (advised) external businesses that wished to implement building or other property related projects. I used land registry IT systems as key tools in my work.

2005 – 2005 Administrative/Accountant Assistant, LLC Yen & Martinsons, Riga, Latvia.

Responsibilities: My main role was to look after the company accounting records, prepare draft contract agreements and issue invoices or reminders for payment. At year end I assisted the company accountant to carry out the company’s annual audit. Occasionally I had to deal with customer complaints and feedback.

2002 – 2004 Records Administrator, Property Department of Riga City, Council, Riga, Latvia.

(summer holiday periods) Responsibilities: My role was the co-ordination of Riga city council owned land border plans for civil engineering services. I had to request and receive certificates from the State Archives and handle cadastral evaluation documents from the National Land Service. One of my projects was the compiling of a document archive list and its subsequent archival.

Traineeships

Sep 2008 – Nov 2008 Internship before Qualifications exam and before defence of Master’s thesis, Antra Zavele Private Advocate Practice, Riga, Latvia.

Responsibilities: necessary research to develop a deeper understanding for my master’s thesis; this strengthened my professional legal skills and abilities.

Apr 2008 – Jun 2008 Traineeship in the Judiciary and Related Institutions, Antra Zavele Private Advocate Practice, Riga, Latvia.

Combined traineeship of civil and criminal law. Civil law field responsibilities included: representation in court; legal advisory services; legal document preparation of the civil law area. Criminal law field functions included: participation in the lawyer's functions: a) advocacy; b) representation; c) the provision of legal aid.

Apr 2005 – Jun 2005 Legal Training at State Administrative Body, Property Department of Riga City Council, Riga, Latvia.

Responsibilities: independently developed regulations in public administration and other documents related to administrative processes. I had to analyse a major problem of the Property Department’s expertise related to administrative law.

Apr 2004 – Jun 2004 Introduction Training Course at the Court, Riga, Latvia.
Responsibilities: following court hearings and writing reports.
