Kennis, opleidingen en ervaring:

Opleiding: Universitair

Stages en werkervaring: My work experience developed into four fields; however all of them are interrelated.

TEACHING
What is so rewarding in teaching is simply the idea of contributing to the growth of the students (adults or school students). It is important to achieve set objectives, but it is also vital to arouse their interest in the subjects taught and encourage them to develop own ideas.
TOUR GUIDE
I consider an artwork basically the result of 3 factors: the artist’s personality, the medium, and the historical and cultural context. Therefore, I try to raise awareness in the viewers to look at an artwork from these points of view, rather than giving year numbers and hard facts only.
EXHIBITIONS AND MUSEUMS
It is very fascinating to develop an exhibition from a basic concept to the opening. There are various competences required in order to achieve success, be it in dealing with the artists and art dealers, in writing the catalogue, or in the arrangement of the artworks in the gallery.
PUBLICATIONS
I enjoy writing, especially about art. It is a privilege to be able to give my own interpretation about a work of an artist, and I am very careful to choose the appropriate words for what the artist put into images. I consider the text a sort of bridge between the art work and the observer.
