The european branch of Hazel Mercantile Limited, a Groupe Veritas enterprise, is focused on trading and distribution of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. As the sole responsible for all Chemical Trading Logistics activities, my main responsibilities include:
• Manage the supply chain
• Plan and supervise all the import and export shipments
• Manage export and import licenses as per the European Laws
• Freight negotiation with Logistics/Transport companies for bulk & containerized shipment overseas and for local distribution - tank trucks (vehicles) and barges
• Manage stock inventory at various locations and its distribution for inter-Europe sales
• Instruct inspection companies for Q&Q Reports at the time of loading, discharging and transhipment
• Work with Dutch and Belgian Authorities for Export, Import and Local distribution
• Letter of Credit scrutiny
• Prepare Pre & Post Shipment Documentation as per PO, PI & LC terms
• Work with the banks for document negotiation under Letter of Credit, Standby LC’s and Bank Guarantee
• VAT Control for the Netherlands and Belgium
• Prepare Daily, Weekly & Monthly MIS report.
Key Achievements
After a short handover period of only 3 business days, I assimilated the new knowledge quickly, moving in excess of 11.000 metric tons of chemical to different destinations, both local and overseas, in the first month alone.

October 2012 to August 2013: Customer Service Representative at Genzyme Europe BV.
Acquired by Sanofi in 2011, Genzyme is one of the world's leading biotech companies. Customer Service Europe is the service desk that handles order support to European countries as well as order processing. My responsibilities include: receive, check and enter customer orders in ERP systems (MFG/PRO and SAP). Check and manage availability of product. Track & trace orders until receipt by customers. Invoice orders. Communication with customers and internal departments. Event handling. Receive, check and enter complaints in applicable system(s). Track & trace event processes.
Key Achievements: played a vital role in retaining an important customer for the European market.
May 2012 to September 2012: Distribution Administrator at BHP Billiton International Metals B.V.
BHP Billiton was formed from a merger between two highly complementary companies BHP and Billiton, and it is today a global leader in the world's natural resources industry, covering major resource commodities. This is my first working experience in Holland and it is a temporary position up to the end of September. My core responsibilities in the department that covers the supply chain of Raw Materials (Pitch, Coke, Caustic Soda and Cathodes) from suppliers to assets include: administer and maintain all logistic actions in SAP. Check transport, demurrage/dispatch and other logistic related invoices. Prepare and submit necessary documentation to customers. Provide logistic information required by customers, internal & external service providers, commercial, marketing and other internal departments. Monitor material movements within the logistics chain, communicate progress and escalate problems to stakeholders. Liaise and coordinate with customers, team members and commercial staff regarding allocation, loading and movements of material ensuring all requirements are satisfactory. Arrange transportation and deliveries in line with agreed arrangements and procedures. Assist Manager Distribution, Scheduler or Coordinator Distribution with projects as required.
Key Achievements: joining BHP Billiton in a Logistics position during a period of restructuring and rationalisation, I had to acquire knowledge of business processes in a fluid environment, this has allowed me to display the ability to become proficient in BHP Billitons complex supply chain management in a very challenging timeframe.
March 2010 to March 2012: Import/Export Document Analyst at Brasil Foods S/A
Wellax is part of Brasil Foods Group - the world's tenth-largest food company in revenue. As Document Analyst for the Far-East market, I worked mainly with clients from Hong-Kong, China and Singapore, and my main tasks included: issuing commercial invoices and other relevant documents on SAP (Systems, Applications and Products). Creating, coordinating and sending out Shipping Details to clients, ensuring that every single document (Bill of Landing, Health Certificate, Certificate of Origin, Halal Certificate, No-Wood Certificate) are 100% accurate before they are sent out to the client or to the clients Bank. 1st level of contact with clients, offering support and handling customer complaints. Maintaining a good level of communication between clients, Customer Service and Sales departments. Negotiation with the banker and the clients about the documents related to the selling. Anticipating the clients needs and requesting for extra free time (demurrage, plugging & storage) in advance. Where applicable escalate issues to other departments such as Sales or Logistics. Working experience with Incoterms® (International Commercial Terms).
Key Achievements: this was my first professional contact with the International Trading business, allowing me for the first time in my career to become acquainted with this component of my degree in International Relations. I have successfully managed a client portfolio for two years being able to maintain a very high level of service, meeting and most of the times exceeding the goals established by the business.
